Students entering the new school building

The moment Lindsay Academy students and staff have been eagerly awaiting for has finally arrived. With the grand opening of the new school, many exciting opportunities lie ahead. This milestone comes after a journey filled with challenges—the closing of the old school, the 'shed era,' the construction process, and the quick move into the new building. Now, students and staff are ready to embrace what the rest of the year will bring, carrying with them an attitude of high hopes and excitement in all that they do.

To gain a better understanding of Lindsay Academy’s new building, we interviewed one of the senior students, Cassie Pfeifer. Cassie is a member of Lindsay Academy’s first graduating class, along with her six other classmates.

When asked how the new school building compares to the architectural display boards, she responded: “I was shocked to see the new school and how identical it was to the pictures I was shown. I figured that they wouldn’t be identical, but they were. I was happy to see all of the new supplies/tools that are available for our use daily. It is beyond exciting to see the new school in real life and not just in the pictures.”

The new building also includes updated furnishings such as desks, chairs, lunch tables, and library shelves, enhancing the overall learning environment.

We then asked Cassie a different question: Did Lindsay Academy live up to your expectations? She responded: “I truly believe that Lindsay Academy has exceeded my expectations not only in the classroom but also through the friendships I have gained.”

When asked, What is the most unique thing about the new school building? She said: “The coolest part of the new school building is the wall outside of the library. The wall has a Bible quote from Matthew 5:14: ‘You are the Light of the World.’ Right next to this quote, there is a 5ft tall light-up LED cross engraved into the wall.”

Many of the students find this wall captivating because it catches their attention every time they walk past it. This space is no longer just a building. As the students spend more time here, they create lasting memories with one another. These are the days they will remember for the rest of their lives. One day, they will tell their children about being the first students to attend Lindsay Academy. As they walk down the halls, they’ll share stories of getting in trouble for something funny or creating a cool experiment in the science lab.

A new school building not only fills the students, staff, and community with excitement, but also brings an opportunity to enhance student learning. Students are able to expand their understanding of nutrition and cooking techniques in the new kitchen, sew and design a variety of projects, and get hands-on experience with various science experiments. This building will be a place where students can learn, create, and grow for years to come.
